Juliana Lee

Juliana MH Lee

Juliana is the pioneer genetic counselor in Malaysia. She obtained her Graduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling from University of Melbourne in 2003 and Masters of Counselling from University of Malaya in 2009. She began practice in 2004 to 2014 at University Malaya Medical Centre and became the first genetic counselor from Asia to be accredited by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA). Since 2015, she has been providing genetic counseling services in the private health setting. She is also a visiting lecturer in the Masters of Science (Genetic Counselling) program at the National University of Malaysia and current Secretary of Genetic Counselling Society Malaysia.

Breana Cham

Breana holds a Master of Health Sciences (Genetic Counseling) from the University of Melbourne. She has been with the Genetics Service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital as a Genetic Counsellor since 2007. Her clinical interests include paediatric, metabolic and cardiology genetics. As a genetic counsellor, Breana works closely with families to access genetic testing and appropriate health care, and helps families understand genetic conditions. Her current research interests include the genetic basis of rare diseases and genetic counselling processes in next generation sequencing technology.

Mercy Laurino

Mercy is a certified and licensed genetic counselor. ​She received her MS degree in genetic counseling from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and her PhD in Public Health Genetics at the University of Washington. She collaborated with the medical geneticists in the Philippines to successfully launch the master’s program in genetic counseling at the University of the Philippines Manila in 2011. Her professional commitment is to partner with local health care providers in developing countries to establish genetic counseling training programs. She is the Associate Director, Cancer Genetics and Prevention at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Wasington, USA.

Peter Abad

Peter James Abad

Peter James Abad is a registered nurse and a pioneer genetic counselor in the Philippines. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the College of Nursing, University of the Philippines Manila and his Master’s degree in genetic counseling at the College of the Medicine in the same university. As a pioneer genetic counselor in the country, he is active in the integration of genetic counseling services in the different medical specialties particularly in the prenatal and oncology setting.

Sahil Kejriwal

Sahil Kejriwal

Sahil is from Mumbai, India. He completed his genetic counseling training at Stanford University in 2013 and is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Public Health Genetics at the University of Washington, Seattle. His doctoral research involves the exploration of a new model to organize health and social services for people affected by beta-thalassemia in Jaipur, India. His career goals include improving genetic service delivery at the clinical and public health levels in India.

Yoyo Chu

Yoyo received her Master of Genetic Counselling program and completed Part 1 Board Eligible Genetic Counsellor from Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) in 2013. She currently provides genetic counseling at Queen Mary Hospital in the fields of pediatrics, prenatal and preimplantation genetics diagnosis. She also teaches at the Master of Medical Science (Genetic Counseling) and Genetics module in Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Health at Hong Kong University. Her various genetic counseling research projects focuses on autism, sudden arrhythmia death syndrome, and undiagnosed/rare diseases.

Kunal Sanghavi

Kunal is the Program Manager, Genetic Counseling at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut, USA. Prior to that he worked as Genetic Counselor/ Genetic Research Program Specialist at the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His specialities are: transnational research, clinical innovation, genetics/genomics education and services delivery, sustainable partnerships and collaborations, program development, and design thinking and innovative problem solving.

Chimayee Nagaraj

Chinmayee B Nagaraj

Chinmayee B Nagaraj, CGC, works as a Genetic Counselor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati, USA. After completing her Bachelors in Biotechnology and Masters in Biomedical Genetics in India, she did her Masters in Genetic Counseling at the University of Utah with a fellowship in Business Development. Her current role is split between laboratory genetic counseling and interdisciplinary neuromuscular clinic. Her experience includes clinical test development, training genetic counseling students, addressing professional development issues and has an active research output. She is also a trained vocalist, who continues to perform and teach music.

Donny Nauphar

Donny received his PhD at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences Mahidol University, Thailand, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) focused in Clinical Genetics Residency Program from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He works as a lecturer at the Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (Unswagati) in West Java, Indonesia. He is an experienced lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), Protein Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Cell Culture.
